Monumentalne dzieło Antonio Niccoliniego (1772-1850), włoskiego architekta (także scenografa i grawera), autora projektu odbudowy wnętrza Teatro di San Carlo (po spaleniu w 1816 r.), stanowi niezwykłe dziedzictwo artystyczne Królewskiego Muzeum Burbonów (ob. Każda tablica została szeroko opisana, a tekst pochodzi od cenionych archeologów i uczonych sztuk pięknych (A. Niccolini, G. Bechi, B. Quaranta, F. M. Avellino et al). Ryciny autorstwa wiodących artystów epoki (Giant, La Volpe, Mattei, Grog, Oliva et al.).
